- Husky Highlights
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Hansen Jr/Sr. High School. It is hard to believe that this is the beginning of my third year as the principal. It is an honor to serve in this role in such a wonderful school and community. It is a pleasure to work with the students, parents, staff, and patrons of the Hansen School District
I would like to welcome the new staff members of Hansen Jr./Sr. High School. Mrs. Sharee Hamilton is our new K-12 Counselor, Mr. Tim McDaniel is our 7-12 Science Teacher, Ms. Pam Grant is our ESL/Migrant Liaison, and Mrs. Christina Wolf if our new Agriculture/Tech Prep teacher. Each of them brings a wide array of knowledge and experience to our school and district.
In my opinion, one of the most important aspects of educating students today is to prepare them for their life after high school; whether they are going to college, joining the Armed Forces, or starting a career. Creating college and career ready students is being done by our extraordinary staff of highly qualified teachers! Students at Hansen High School have the opportunity of taking dual credit English 101, Math 143, Math 144, and Astronomy right here on campus and several other classes offered online through Idaho Digital Learning Academy. Students in grade 7-12, are encouraged to take advantage of the Advanced Opportunities funding provided to them through our state legislature. Each student has $4,125 to use for dual credit classes or classes to get ahead. This program is an excellent opportunity for students to get a jump start on their college classes at a reduced cost, or for those students who would like to get a head in their classes. If you and your child are interested in finding out more information, please come in and talk to Mrs. Hamilton.
As I continue my journey as a Hansen Husky, I invite parents and community members to come to the school and see what great things our students are doing. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions, concerns, or ideas.
Here’s to another exciting year at Hansen Jr/Sr. High School!
As always, It’s a great day to be a HUSKY!
